The Iconic Fountain

At the heart of our town stands the world-renowned Fountain, one of the tallest man-made fountains in the world. Originally built in 1970 by Robert McCulloch, it was a groundbreaking marvel at the time and has since become a symbol of our community. The fountain, located in the middle of a serene lake, shoots water 560 feet into the air under optimal conditions, with a normal height of around 300 feet. This majestic display occurs for 15 minutes at the top of every hour, drawing visitors from all over to witness its beauty.

Powered by three 600-horsepower turbine pumps, the Fountain uses reclaimed water from Fountain Lake, which is also used to irrigate the surrounding parks, golf courses, and public spaces. This blend of natural and man-made beauty makes it a beloved centerpiece of Fountain Hills.
